Canon’s next generation MegaTank printer offers a high-quality solution for home photo printing

Canon’s first MegaTank printer designed for efficient home photo printing

Sydney, AUSTRALIA – 5 April 2022: Canon Australia today announces the expansion of its refillable ink tank colour printer range, with a new printer designed specifically for home photo printing – the three-in-one Canon PIXMA G660. With a FINE print head and set of six ChromaLife 100 dye-based inks, this model produces vivid and bold prints for photo enthusiasts. Combined with the MegaTank ink bottles, which enable high-capacity printing, simple maintenance and enhanced media support, this is a great cost-effective solution for fans of printing photos at home.

High quality, bold prints on a wide range of media
The PIXMA G660 uses six dye-based inks, including two new dedicated red and grey dyes, for a wider colour range, creating deeper shaded areas and richer colours for vibrant photos with strong contrast. This printer uses Canon’s FINE print head technology for enhanced image quality, gradation expression and image stability1.

With reduced colour shift across different media types, from double-sided matte to conventional glossy and semi-gloss paper, users can produce high-quality prints across a range of media. Photography enthusiasts who want to unleash their creativity can print borderless photos up to A4 and choose from media types such as Canon’s Magnetic Photo paper for personalising fridge magnets.

High volume cost-effective photo printing
Canon’s latest inkjet printers feature MegaTank ink bottles which deliver incredibly high page yields. One set of bottles can print up to 3,800 borderless 4x6” photo prints, meaning fewer bottle refills, less downtime and reduced costs2. Users save up to 94% on the cost of ink when printing 4x6” borderless photos3 with ink costing just 4.7c per 4x6” photo print4. The PIXMA G660 also has the ability to print a 4x6” photo in just 47 seconds5 and offers a 100-sheet rear feed for uninterrupted printing.

Simple to use, easy to maintain
With useful additions such as the user-replaceable maintenance cartridge, the PIXMA G660 makes it easy for users to manage the device themselves and reduce downtime. Saving time and effort, the new GI-63 series MegaTank ink bottles also feature a fool-proof, key-type nozzle unique to each colour in the series to avoid any errors and require minimal effort to refill.

Designed with efficiency in mind, this printer saves energy with the handy Auto Power On/Off, while the two-line LCD display simplifies managing printer settings. The Canon PIXMA G660 offers Wi-Fi connectivity so photography enthusiasts can wirelessly connect their computers, cameras and smart devices and print their favourite snaps directly via the Canon PRINT App, Mopria for Android or Apple AirPrint for a seamless printing experience.
